Hello Sharon,I came across your wesibte while researching agent orange and children of vietnam vets. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your husband and your childrens health problems.I am the youngest of 6 daughters my mom gave birth to. Her second child was born and died shortly after, cause undetermined (happened in 73 I believe.) My oldest sister has Rheumatiod Arthrits, dx’d a few years ago. Another sister of ours died at the age of 7 from an astrocytoma in 1983. I have a rare and potentially fatal condition called Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension, which was dx’d in 2004, at the age of 24.My other two surviving sisters have had some medical problems too (though not as severe) but still cause for concern, like ovarian cysts and endometriosis. \Not sure if it is related, but my mother was also dx’d with Lupus two years ago. My Father has already had a heart attack, and gets frequent attacks of his digestive track which cause him to throw up for days on end sometimes. He also has sleep apnea and rosacea on his face.Looking at the list of health problems my family has gone through, I can’t help but wonder if all or most of them were caused by my father’s exposure to agent orange while he was in country with the marines in 66-67. He thinks the same, and it breaks my heart because I think he feels somewhat responsible for these tragedies and illnesses we have had, and I have seen the tears he fights back when he mentions it. It completely broke him and my mom’s heart forever when my sister Greta died at the age of 7. The wound is still very deep and will never go away. Parents should not have to watch their children die or suffer from severe illnesses.I am doing well in treatment, but I will eventually need a transplant of at least one lung, or two lungs, or two lungs and a heart (depending on how badly my body is effected by IPH before I need transplant(s). My sister Michelle is doing well with her Rheumatoid Arthritis, but she gets flare ups every now and then that are pretty bad.My mother is on Lupus meds and is going to need a hip replacement soon I think. She is 61.It makes me so damn mad to hear how the country which my father and your husband served to protect did this to them and us, and can sit there and deny the results of it for so long.God Bless you and your family,JennIt just makes me sick to my stomach that
